A new milestone has been added to the achievements of the Bangladeshi diaspora in the United States. In a festive atmosphere, the popular television channel RTV officially inaugurated its New York studio on the evening of Monday, October 20, in the Hillside area of Jamaica, Queens.
The grand opening ceremony drew enthusiastic participation from various members of the expatriate Bangladeshi community, including community leaders, cultural activists, journalists, and artists.

Among the distinguished speakers at the event were Shahnewaz, the founder of Golden Age Homecare; Asif Akbar, the popular singer and director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB); and Ahsan Habib of the Bangladesh Society, along with many others.
Addressing the gathering, RTV’s Chief Executive Officer, Syed Ashiq Rahman, said, “With the launch of our studio in New York, our commitment to Bangladeshi expatriates in North America has deepened even further.”
He added, “RTV is no longer just a television channel — it has become a strong global voice for Bangladeshis around the world.”
The ceremony also featured discussions about RTV’s ongoing programs, future initiatives, and upcoming coverage plans that focus on the expatriate community.

In his remarks, singer Asif Akbar shared his long-standing relationship and fond memories with RTV, saying, 'RTV has always maintained its commitment to objective journalism.' He also expressed hope that 'RTV will become a trusted window of information for Bangladeshis living in North America.'
Notably, the inauguration of RTV’s New York studio is being held in two phases. The first phase took place on October 20, while the second, more festive session will be held on October 27, at 7:00 PM Eastern Time.
